The New Chengdu Tianfu Airport was put into use in June 2021, featuring a supporting cargo station equipped with floor scales from Minebea Intec for weighing import and export goods. The original airport in Chengdu has a small capacity. The construction of a new airport has started to meet the demanding passenger and cargo throughput in the southwestern China region. Its builder, Kunming Shipbuilding Group, uses Minebea Intec as their weighing solution provider for its cargo stations.
Applications and Products Used
Tianfu Airport uses a large total of 54 scales, from capacities of around ten to thirty tons, to weigh imported and exported goods at different places like a cargo station, customs supervision warehouse, transfer centers, and inspection centers. Products used are weighing indicators X3 and Maxxis 5, Digital Load Cell PR 6224, and cable junction box PR 6024/685.

Unmanned forklifts are used to complete the goods receipt, weighing, shelf and ground storage, and delivery in the standard parts area. Minebea Intec constructed weighing platforms for these tasks with a digital load cell PR 6224, a weighing solution used for vehicle weighing that reaches stability quite quickly, ensuring shorter weighing times. These load cells provide high accuracy with a minimum load cell verification as high as 14,000.
